Standard Practice Fee

This is a mixed billing medical Centre.

We will bulk-bill Pensioners, Veteran Affairs, and school attending Children; however, we offer private clinical procedures to our patients. Below is a list of private clinical procedures and respective fees.

Patients are asked to pay in full on the day of consultation. Accepted methods of payment are: Cash, Visa, Mastercard and EFTPOS.

For your convenience we can process your claim through Medicare online and your refund will be deposited into your nominated bank account within 2 working days. All you need to do is register your banking details with Medicare. Alternatively, if you have an EFTPOS card linked to a Cheque or Savings bank account, your Medicare rebate can be deposited into either of these accounts at the time of payment.

If you are referred to an Allied Health worker or Specialist, we advise that you inquire about their fees and other costs that may arise.

Fees on Saturday before 1PM

Fees on Saturday after 1pm and Sunday

OSHC/ OVHC

We provide direct- billing to patients with NIB, Allianz Global Assistance, Bupa, and Medibank (Student Cover only) insurance holders. Any private insurance except the list will NOT be directly billed and will be required to pay the full consultation fee up-front.

We do NOT charge any GAP to valid private insurance holders; however, a gap might be applied to patients with no Medicare or private insurance.

The staff will update you if the provided insurance details are invalid or does not cover GP, prior to the consultation. Additionally, the staff is responsible for avoiding fraud or misusing insurance details, hence random ID checks can take place.

Telehealth

Phone Messages: Doctors are not normally contactable during their working hours by phone. A message will be taken, and the doctor will contact you at their earliest convenience. If the matter is urgent, the doctor may accept your call or contact you as soon as possible.

Doctors accept phone calls about yourself and your family’s health. However, they are not always available and may need to call you back at a more convenient time.

Telehealth appointments are available for all our patients. Our doctors are actively providing continuity of care for our elderly patients as well as patients with high risk. However due to COVID-19 Medicare restrictions, we are unable to extend these services to new patients and suggest new patients to come see the doctors face-to-face or contact their regular GP.

Appointments

Horizon Family Doctors operates an appointment system. A standard appointment is usually adequate to deal with most health issues. If you are making an appointment for an insurance or employment medical, procedure or complex/multiple medical problems, please book a longer appointment.

Please ensure a separate appointment is made for each family member. Appointments are made at 10-minute intervals so you can normally expect to spend that long with your doctor.

Appointment slots are held aside each day for same day urgent reviews, walk-ins, or sick children. An Online Appointments facility is now available through our website and health engine.

Waiting Times

No one likes to be kept waiting. Our staff respect this and try to adhere to appointment times. The unpredictable nature of a medical practice means that consultations sometimes last longer than anticipated. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused to patients when we are behind schedule.

Please feel free to phone our surgery to check whether your appointment will be on time.

Reception will also try to phone you advising of any delay. If you require any assistance, please consult our friendly staff.

Home Visit

This practice offers home visits to regular patients of the practice during business hours. If you are unable to attend the clinic for any reason, please call reception to arrange a visit.

This service will also be bulk billed.

After Hour Care Horizon Family Doctors contract a medical deputizing service for after-hours medical care:
